Annecy

First documented in 1107, the town of Annecy is located in southeastern France at the northern tip of the country's sixth largest lake, the turquoise-blue Lac d'Annecy. Named Alpine Town of the Year in 2012, Annecy is particularly appealing for its gorgeous location between the lake and picturesque mountains, and for its wide range of opportunities for outdoor activities, gastronomy and culture. Among the most important sights is the medieval castle Château d'Annecy, situated at 407 m, and the Palais de l'Isle, only 100 m away, a house rising from the middle of the river Thiou, which delights visitors from all over the world.
