Fjord Line discontinues ferry service to Sweden
Fjord Line has announced that it will cease ferry operations between Sandefjord in Norway and Strömstad in Sweden. This step is taken due to strategic considerations, as the route is not in line with the company's vision and long-term strategy.
Holland Norway Lines insolvent
The Dutch shipping company Holland Norway Lines (HNL) filed an application for suspension of payments with the competent court in Groningen on August 30, 2023. Operations on the Emden - Kristiansand route have been suspended. It is unclear whether and when operations will be resumed.
P&O Ferries discontinues ferry service from Liverpool to Dublin
Ferry and logistics company P&O Ferries has announced it will close its Liverpool to Dublin ferry service later this year. The decision follows months of speculation and failed negotiations to extend the lease on the Gladstone Dock Terminal in Liverpool.

Viking Line and Gotlandsbolaget are entering into a partnership and will offer joint cruises on the M/S Birka Stockholm. The two renowned Scandinavian shipping companies are planning a cruise service from Stockholm to Mariehamn and Visby, which is scheduled to start in spring 2024.
