The island of Capraia is located in the Mediterranean Sea and belongs to the Tuscan Archipelago. It is considered the most maritime and at the same time the wildest island in the region. The existence of the islet is due to two volcanic eruptions that happened millions of years ago. The volcanic activity is still reflected in the landscape of Capraia. It is dotted with sloping cliffs and rocks. Particularly famous is the bay of Cala Rossa, which shines in colors ranging from red to black. The main attraction is Monte Castello, which has the characteristic Mediterranean vegetation. Birdwatchers, with a little luck, can observe the rare coral gull as well as various other species such as the crow sherd or the Corsican siskin.
