Marie Antoinette was imprisoned in the former state prison on the Ile de la Cité. During the French Revolution, the building served as a revolutionary tribunal. The cells of the former prisoners in the revolutionary prison as well as the halls of the royal palace from the 14th century can still be visited. A guillotine is also located in the museum and gives visitors a close-up look at the history of the French Revolution.
