Indiana is a state in the Midwest of the United States. The capital and largest city is Indianapolis. The mostly flat landscape is characterized by agricultural use, with the cultivation of corn, soybeans and wheat in the foreground. Well-known attractions include the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, where the famous Indy 500 auto race takes place, and the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, a diverse recreational area on Lake Michigan. Another highlight are the Amish communities that live in parts of the state and whose traditional way of life and craftsmanship are a special attraction.
