Iowa is located in the Midwest of the USA between the rivers Missouri and Mississippi. Since 1846, Iowa has been the 29th state of the United States. The state capital, Des Moines, is home to attractions such as the State Capitol Building, Pappajohn Sculpture Park and the Des Moines Art Center. Iowa is known for its agriculture, especially corn farming. The landscape consists of rolling plains and some natural lakes such as the Iowa Great Lakes. Other attractions include the Cedar Rapids Art Museum with exhibits by Grant Wood and the Amana Colonies, a historic settlement of German Pietists.
