Missouri is a state in the Midwest of the USA. It is crossed by the Missouri River, the longest river in North America, which forms the natural border with Kansas and Nebraska. The landscape is varied, ranging from the foothills of the Ozark Plateau in the south to the vast plains in the north. The capital is Jefferson City, and the largest cities are Kansas City and St. Louis. Missouri is known for its musical traditions, especially the St. Louis Blues and Kansas City Jazz, as well as for its tourist attractions such as the Gateway Arch, the Ozark National Scenic Riverways and the Mark Twain National Forest.
