Dikmen Vadisi Park

Large park not far from the city center with many recreational opportunities

Probably the most beautiful park in Ankara, it invites you to go for a walk or a jog and, with its 9 cafes, children's playground and harmonious landscape architecture, it is also a relaxing place to unwind in the metropolis of Ankara.

Emergence of the Park

Until the municipality decided to implement an urban redevelopment plan, the Dikmen Valley Urban Transformation and Development Project, in the 1990s, it was in a neglected state with extensive uncontrolled development.
The aim was to create a recreational area with adjacent high quality residential development close to the city centre and the city's main arterial roads.
The first phase of the redevelopment was completed in 1994, followed by the second and third in 2002 and 2009.Today, this popular park is located on what was once a poorly maintained area.

A place to relax

Large lawns, a total of over 120,000 deciduous and coniferous trees and gardens with almost 50 different plant species have been laid out over an area of almost 400,000 square metres. Sports enthusiasts will be pleased to find jogging and walking paths and a running track as well as a fitness area. Families with children will find a colourful children's playground and cafes invite you to take a break after a walk or sporting activity.

A special attraction are the extensive water areas with a size of over 30000sqm2. The three waterfalls in the park, two of them of considerable size, as well as numerous fountains, which are illuminated in the summer with colorful spotlights at night, are a popular motif for many photographers every night.

In addition to the leisure facilities, there are several social facilities for people of all ages in the area, such as a school for the disabled, conference rooms and 3 mosques.
