The island of Komodo is best known for its native inhabitants, the Komodo dragons. The huge lizards can grow up to 3 meters long and an encounter is not always harmless for humans. For this reason it is recommended to admire the Komodo dragons together with a guide in the national park of Komodo. On the one hand, the guides know where the lizards are particularly common, on the other hand they know the typical behavior of the animals. Divers are also attracted to Komodo because of the spectacular reefs off the island. However, the island is only developed for tourism to a limited extent, so you won't find any large hotel complexes here.
