Moulin Rouge

Probably the most famous cabaret in the world, located in the Pigalle district at the foot of the Montmartre hill, only circus performances were held at the beginning of its opening in 1889. Later, the French Cancan made the place world famous, and operettas and revues were also performed at the Moulin Rouge. After 1929, the cabaret was even used as a cinema. As mills were common in the Montmartre district until well into the 19th century, the red mill on the roof was also used for the Moulin Rouge as "bait" for paying guests. Today, two dance shows take place there daily. For the first performance, dinner must be booked, while for the second show, champagne and other drinks are served afterwards.
