Train World

The railroad museum was opened in September 2015 and is located directly at Schaerbeek station. On about 8,0000 square meters, the visitor gets an insight into the world of the Belgian railroad. Train World is not only a fascinating experience for railroad enthusiasts. The museum provides exciting and interesting insights into the history, but also into the future of the railroad, such as the designs of the new "Eurostar".

In total, there are over 1,200 exhibits in the museum, including 22 historic locomotives and carriages, an original railroad bridge dating back to the 19th century and a railroad guard's cottage. But also old uniforms, posters, luggage, films, photos, station signs and clocks can be admired in the railroad museum.

Among the most important exhibits of Train World is the "Pays de Waes", which dates back to 1842 and is the oldest surviving steam locomotive from all over Europe. Also impressive is the streamlined Type 12 locomotive. It managed to break the high-speed record in 1939.

And finally, those who want to feel like a real train driver will find real pleasure in the train simulator.
