Neroberg

The 245-metre high Neroberg is the city's local mountain and the heart of Wiesbaden. It is a popular destination for visitors from all over the world and offers besides a fantastic view of Wiesbaden also a lot of entertainment for the whole family.

The Nerobergbahn

Another pride for the people of Wiesbaden and almost a little adventure for young and old passengers is the ride on the Nerobergbahn. What is special about this historic train is that it is powered by water. How exactly this works is explained to the visitor in a small museum at the valley station.

With a speed of over seven kilometres per hour, it has been covering a distance of 438 metres up the mountain since 1888 and is now a listed building. Over 300,000 passengers use the Nerobergbahn every year.

The Opelbad

About 80 metres above the Hessian capital Wiesbaden, the Opelbad has been located on the Neroberg since 1934 with a total area of about 14,500 square metres. In an idyllic and quiet location surrounded by forests and vineyards, it is one of the most beautiful outdoor pools in the whole of Germany.

In addition to a 65-metre-long swimming pool with a non-swimmers' area and a small water slide, bathers can also enjoy a fantastic panoramic view over the rooftops of Wiesbaden. A beach volleyball court, children's playgrounds, an outdoor chess court and table tennis tables are also available on the grounds.

The absolute highlight of the Opelbad is the Finnish sauna, which, with an infusion of 90 degrees Celsius, is popular with bathers even in summer.

The Climbing Forest

For those who prefer adventure and adrenaline, the Neroberg Climbing Forest is the place to be. With a total of 18 courses and over 80 different climbing options, it has been one of the largest high ropes courses in Europe since 2006.

Adventurers young and old can test their strength, dexterity and stamina at heights of between 1.50 metres and 24 metres, swinging from branch to branch on ropes or balancing on suspension bridges. The curved cable car is particularly popular with visitors.
