Why the Pakleni Otoci are called "Hell Islands" is actually incomprehensible. The beautiful nature of the small archipelago with about 20 small islands in the west of the island of Hvar deserves rather the designation of a heaven on earth. Due to its location in the immediate vicinity of the main town of Hvar, many Hvar vacationers make day trips to the Pakleni Otoci. The archipelago offers various excursion destinations, among which the island of Sveti Klement is the most popular. Especially the bay of Palmizana with its beautiful palm-fringed sandy beach is a true paradise on earth. Moreover, the cuisine on the Hell Islands is among the best in the entire Mediterranean.
