Père Lachaise

The Cimitière Père Lachaise, the largest cemetery in Paris, is the final resting place of the world's most famous personalities. A detour to the cemetery of prominent writers, musicians, composers and actors is worthwhile. Personalities like Oscar Wilde, Edith Piaf, Jim Morrison, Frédéric Chopin and Maria Callas are buried here. Mausoleums in miniature line the park-like streets. The peace and quiet of Père Lachaise, compared to the hustle and bustle of Paris, makes for an interesting voyage of discovery.
