Promenade du Paillon

After a construction period of two years, it was inaugurated in October 2013. It got its name from the river Paillon of the same name. Once a raging river, it now flows underground through Nice in a canal. After it was drained, the Promenade du Paillon was created in the former riverbed. The idea of the city fathers was to create a green area of a special kind for the inhabitants of Nice. A living space was to be created here and at the same time the green lung of the city.

Pure refreshment

The Promenade is a well-visited and well-maintained park in the middle of the city that has so much more to offer in addition to lush exotic vegetation. Over 1,500 trees from all five continents have been planted. All year round, lush flowering plants delight visitors. On hot summer days, 128 water fountains refresh and surprise. Nobody knows exactly how high the next fountain will bubble. Young and old alike also have a lot of fun at the fog area, because with an impressive 960 atomizers, both fun and pleasant cooling are guaranteed. So pack your swimwear and a towel. Seating areas invite you to linger and all this is absolutely free of charge and without time limits. Thus, the park is also very popular in the dark, when, in addition to the park lighting, 128 lights bathe the water fountains in a very special atmosphere.

A place made for children

The Promenade du Paillon is an ideal place for children, as there are swings, climbing frames and seesaws at several places. Large wooden sea creatures invite to romp and have fun. Whale, dolphin, turtle and a ship are wonderful places to spend playful hours. A visit to the Promenade du Paillon is therefore the perfect place for all members of the family and is proof that a "living space" for everyone has been created here.
