The Japanese island of Rebun is located northwest of Hokkaidō and is the neighboring island of Rishiri. Here, the focus for visitors is less on sporting activities and more on enjoying the variety of plants native to the area. It is the lush blooms that give Rebun its name, "Floating Flower Island." The peak of the flowering season is between May and August. A walk amidst the sea of flowers leaves an unforgettable impression. Vacationers should plan their trip for the months of April to September to avoid the often freezing temperatures and winter storms during the cold season.
