Lipari
Lipari, namesake and largest of the Lipari Islands, impresses with its picturesque harbor town. The ruins date back to the Bronze Age and tell of the long, eventful history. Greeks and Romans, Saracens and Normans fought over the island. In addition to buildings from ancient times, you will find a citadel on the island that dates back to Charles V, and several imposing churches such as the Cathedral of San Bartolomeo with its impressive Baroque altar.
