Holland Norway Lines
Holland Norway Lines is the first ferry company that connects the Dutch Eemshaven with the Norwegian Kristiansand by means of a direct connection through the North Sea. Its long-term goal is to become the largest Dutch shipping company for the transport of passengers and goods between Norway and Holland. In addition, the transport is to be emission-free by 2026 at the latest.
Connections
At present, the shipping company has one ship in operation, the MS Romantika, which sails through the North Sea six times a week. On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, the ship sails from Eemshaven to Kristiansand, returning the following day.
The sailing time is from 3 p.m. to 9 a.m. the next day. Passengers thus have the opportunity to spend most of the journey time asleep. This makes the ferry connection an inexpensive alternative to the flight.
The booking of a sleeping cabin is obligatory. These are always 2-person cabins. If the journey is made alone, no second person will be booked into the respective cabin.
Price reductions
Children up to two years of age are carried free of charge on Holland Norway Lines. Children and teenagers between 3 and 17 years of age pay on average slightly more than half the fare.
Transport conditions
Check-in begins one hour before the scheduled departure time. The shipping company recommends arriving at the terminal at least 90 minutes before departure.
Cars and motorcycles are carried on board. Long-term parking at the respective terminals is not possible. The maximum parking time is two hours.
Only one piece of hand luggage with dimensions of 60 x 50 x 40 centimeters and a maximum weight of 12 kilograms is allowed per person. The rest of the luggage will be stored in the car for car passengers, foot passengers can additionally take a maximum of two pieces of luggage weighing up to 20 kilograms into their own cabin.
Meals are not included in the price, but can be purchased on board. There is also an EC machine (ATM) on board.
Pets may be taken on board. For animals up to 20 kilograms, a pet-friendly cabin can be booked. For larger animals, a limited number of kennels are available on board. In this case, the animals can be visited during the trip.
Smoking is allowed only in the outdoor areas.
