Irish Ferries is an Irish ferry and transport company operating passenger and freight services between Ireland, the United Kingdom and continental Europe, including routes from Dublin Port to Holyhead, from Rosslare Europort to Pembroke and from Dublin Port to Cherbourg in France.

The company is part of the Irish Continental Group (ICG), which is listed on the Irish and London Stock Exchanges. ICG also owns the container line Eucon, which operates ships on routes between Ireland and the continent.

Irish Ferries' flagship, the MV Ulysses, is currently the largest ROPAX ferry in the Irish Sea and was the largest car ferry in the world when it was launched in 2001. Other vessels in the fleet include the MV Isle of Inishmore, the MV W.B. Yeats and the fast ferry Dublin Swift (successor to the HSC Jonathan Swift, which was in service until 2018).

Irish Ferries goes back to the Irish Continental Line, which was founded in 1973 as a joint venture between Irish Shipping, Fearnley & Eger and the Swedish Lion Ferry. It began operating on the Rosslare-Le Havre route with the ferry Saint Patrick, which could carry 547 passengers and 210 vehicles. Following the liquidation of Irish Shipping in 1984, Irish Continental Line was taken over through a management buy-out and later renamed Irish Continental Group (ICG).

In a major expansion, ICG took over the British and Irish Steam Packet Company Limited, known as B&I Line, in 1992. This nationalized company operated ferry services between Dublin and Holyhead and between Rosslare and Pembroke Dock. This acquisition enabled Irish Ferries to expand its ferry presence, carrying passengers and freight between Ireland, the UK and France. With a modern fleet and a focus on efficient and reliable service, Irish Ferries plays an important role in promoting travel and trade in the region.

With a modern fleet and a strong presence on several key routes, Irish Ferries plays a vital role in the movement of passengers and freight between Ireland and its European neighbors.
