The Cathedral Notre Dame

The cathedral, where a Gallo-Roman temple once stood, is a masterpiece of Gothic architecture and offers immeasurable treasures of artifacts inside. The Gothic masterpiece was built between 1163 and 1345. Visible from afar with its magnificent silhouette, Notre Dame sits magnificently on the Île de la Cité. The venerable church building with its wonderful rosettes was used for council meetings and amateur dramas as well as for the coronation of kings. Before visiting the interior of the church, it is worth marvelling at the exterior façade - a wonderful impression of architectural craftsmanship, especially when the sun is setting.
