Liechtenstein is a small landlocked country in the Alps, bordering Switzerland to the west and Austria to the east. The country was a territory of the Holy Roman Empire until 1806 and later became a member of the German Confederation. Since 1923, it has been closely linked to Switzerland through a customs treaty. Among the most famous sights are Vaduz Castle, the Liechtenstein Museum of Art and Gutenberg Castle.
