Ponza
Ponza is one of the two inhabited islands of the Pontine Islands, a small group of volcanic islands in the Tyrrhenian Sea. The municipality of Ponza also includes the uninhabited neighboring islands of La Botte, Gavi, Palmarola and Zannone. The island's harbor is lined with pastel-colored cottages arranged like a crescent-shaped amphitheater. The crystal clear sea is often compared to the waters of the Caribbean due to its intense coloration. The rich variety of fish can be explored during relaxed snorkeling or diving trips. Particularly popular is the moon bay Chiaia di Luna, which can be reached via an ancient tunnel dating back to Roman times.
The ferry port on the island of Ponza offers connections to the Italian islands of Ventotene and Ischia, as well as to the ports of Naples, San Felice Circeo and Terracina on the Italian mainland. A total of 5 routes are offered here several times a day by the shipping companies SNAV, Pontina Navigazione and NLG.
Terracina
Terracina, located between Rome and Naples, is a tranquil, original place that has so far been spared from mass tourism and has preserved its authentic character. Ancient ruins and a cathedral make the place interesting for culture lovers, while sun worshippers can find a place on one of the beautiful beaches and enjoy the sun and sea
From the ferry port of Terracina there is a ferry connection to the island of Ponza. The route is offered up to 5 times a week by the shipping company NLG. The journey time is about one hour and 15 minutes.
