Celle is worth a visit at any time of year. In winter, the idyllic castle town is decorated for Christmas and offers many shopping opportunities behind historic facades. In summer you can stroll along the alleys and be enchanted by colorful house fronts. The city's cafés and restaurants entice you with outdoor dining, and here you can experience the promenades around the Old Latin School and Kanzleistraße up close. Worth seeing are the state rooms and the Gothic hall of the castle. Celle belongs to the nature park of the Südheide. Numerous cycling and hiking trails await you here, leading you through the unique landscape of the heath.

Where is Celle?

Celle is a German city in the southeast of the federal state of Lower Saxony, around 36 km northeast of the state capital Hannover. There are about 70.000 inhabitants living in Celle.

Celle also includes the formerly independent municipalities of Altencelle, Altenhagen, Bostel, Garßen, Groß Hehlen, Hustedt, Lachtehausen, Scheuen and Westercelle.
