Kassel
Travel Guide & Travel Information
After Frankfurt and Wiesbaden, Kassel is the third largest city in Hesse. Home to more than 200,000 inhabitants, the city in northern Hesse is one of the state's destinations worth visiting. This is also ensured by cultural highlights such as the UNESCO World Heritage Site Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe, where the palace of the same name can be discovered. In addition to the magnificent neoclassical building, the striking statue of Hercules, which is an important landmark of the city, also awaits visitors here. With other attractions such as the Orangerie and the Ottoneum, Kassel proves that the north of Hesse is also one of the attractive destinations of the central state.
