Avenyn and Götaplatsen

Grand boulevard, shopping mile and cultural center of Gothenburg

The Avenyn is actually called Kungsportsavenyen and is the boulevard of Gothenburg. With its numerous shops, restaurants and cafes, it is the real centre of the city. It ends at the Götaplats, where the cultural centre of the city is located with the theatre, the art museum, the art hall and the concert hall. The Poseidon Fountain in the middle of the square is one of Gothenburg's landmarks.
