Seaman's Tower

The Seaman's Tower(sjömanstorn) offers a great view of the city. If you don't want to climb the 193 steps, you can also take the elevator. However, the last steps up to the observation deck are unavoidable. The tower is 52 meters high and offers views of the harbor and the city.

The Sjömanstorn is usually only open on Saturdays or Sundays, but well worth a visit. At the top of the tower is the "Woman by the Sea", a statue designed by Ivar Johnsson. The pedestal is engraved with the names of Swedish sailors and their ships who perished in the First World War.
